Hello . . . .I am Rachel J. Wacaster.
I grew up in Northern California in a religious home. I had two loving, supportive parents, and I have four wonderful siblings. One problem, I was born a perfectionist. No matter what I did, I wasn't good enough. Since leaving the Mormon Church 15 years ago, I have discovered many wonderful things on my path to help me find my own divinity and fulfill my calling in this life. Over the last several years of studying Toltec teachings and finding HeatherAsh's works and teachings as well as studying yoga and other forms of spirituality, I am learning to let go and understand that I am enough, right here, right now.
Growing up, I always did well in school, I guess I was smart, but that wasn't enough, I wanted to be in the gifted class. So I took an entrance exam every year from second to sixth grades so that I could be placed in the gifted class. There were a few stumbling blocks along the way, but I did well in school. I went on to earn a B.A. in Spanish Teaching with a minor in Political Science Teaching and an M.A. In Spanish with an emphasis in Pedagogy.
I have always had body image issues. What woman has not? If you know one, I would like to meet her! In college my weight went up and down, mostly down. I think I was down to 90 lbs. at my smallest during this time. At almost five foot six this was not good, not healthy! My family was worried. My battle with anorexia, fortunately, was short, just one year. However, like most humans I still struggle with my body image and this false idea that I am not enough, though I am getting better.
My favorite roles in life are that of teacher and mother. It is when I am expressing myself in these roles that I am fulfilled and love flows freely. I am naturally an introvert, but when I am teaching and/or mothering I come out of my shell, I have no fears. There is more to me than this short bio, I am a sister, a daughter, a mother, a teacher, a fitness instructor, a yogi, an astrologer, a lover of culture and diversity and everything Hispanic. I finally decided to put away my shyness and follow my passion when it comes to sharing my gifts because I feel so strongly that women need to lift each other up and stop criticizing and judging each other. This is an inner revolution that all can benefit from, especially women!
I have studied, read, and practiced much since I began this journey. I earned a RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) designation with 200+ of training, studying, reading, practicing, and volunteering in 2011. In Summer 2017, I reached E-RYT, which shows I have 1,000+ hours of yoga teaching experience. Fall of 2022 I completed my 500 hour yoga designation! In Fall 2017, I studied with HeatherAsh Amara, and about 30 other beautiful Warrior Goddesses around the world, to become a Certified Warrior Goddess Facilitator. I have completed the Level 2 Warrior Goddess Facilitator Training, and am now on the Leadership Team/ Level 3 Team, with a group of amazing women, and continue to help HeatherAsh bring her dream of women lifting each other up on her land in New Mexico to fruition. I am also a Facilitator for the Warrior Heart Practice, based on HeatherAsh’s book, a process to help us transform our dream. I continue my yoga and Warrior Goddess practice and study daily. I added astrology to my repertoire, by completing an apprenticeship with Jaime Goldstein in 2021. In February of 2022 I was certified as a life/spiritual/energetic coach through the Artist of the Spirit program with Diana Adkins. In September of 2023 I was certified as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Coach through YogaFit. I am also a YogaFit Master Trainer. I love to learn new things that resonate with me and support me on my journey, and I would love to share these tools with you.
